Our Environment

At Flock Image, we believe that the future of our descendants is our responsibility.  We have an obligation and responsibility to ensure that our environment is preserved and protected. One of the ways that Flock Image tackles this very important issue, is to lessen our contribution to the build-up of waste in landfill sites.  As such, we have partnered with Flowcrete as one of our main suppliers.  Flowcrete is very conscious of the environment that they have a dedicated department researching and constantly improving their products to be more environmentally friendly.
 
Flowcrete has given time-proven screeds in their range a green makeover with a new formulation that is free from Ordinary Portland cement (OPC), contains 40 per cent recycled materials taken from industrial waste and has a reduced amount of both organic additives and natural silica sand content. This results in better performance of their products, such as improved flexural and compressive strength, with the additional benefit of a significantly lower carbon footprint.  The removal of OPC from the screed formula is a fantastic breakthrough, with a considerable positive impact on reducing carbon emissions.
 
Flock Image further insist on environmentally friendly packaging.  As such we bulk purchase our raw material in order to make use of IBC containers.  IBC containers are able to better protect the contents and have it discharged in a variety of ways.  Materials can be shipped long distances and decanted at destination, generating significant savings on transport and logistics costs. These containers can be reused and thereby significantly reducing the volume of packaging waste sent to landfill.
